Banwell White Arnold Hemberger
Among the projects of the Hanover/Lebanon firm are several Hanover buildings, including the the Ray School (1969); the Chapel of Our Saviour on Summer Street (1974); the town fire station; the Durham residence; the Courtyard Condominiums (1986); proposals for a 150-room hotel with conference center and restaurant, as well as the 51-unit Berrill Farms Condominiums; renovations to National Bank of Lebanon/Citizens Bank, the Friends Meeting House (1984), the Ray School addition (1995), Molly's Balloon, and Aquinas House (1998). Roy Banwell founded the firm in 1966 as successor to the firm of E.H. & M.K. Hunter, with whom Banwell worked from 1959. The office moved to Hanover in 1971; Greg Hemberger '70 joined the partnership in 1983 and the Hanover office moved to Lebanon in 1995. A Norwich office opened in 1994 moved in 1999 to Montpelier, Vt. Banwell has served as Adjunct Professor in Art History and C. Stuart White, Jr., as Adjunct Assistant Professor in Environmental Studies.

The Lyme firm has designed a number of local buildings including the Rivermill rehabilitation (1986) in Lebanon and the Powerhouse shopping center (1989) in West Lebanon, as well as David's House (1994) at the Hospital. In Hanover the Dragon Hall is their work.

The University of Washington, Tacoma Campus
One of the most interesting campi in the country: The new campus designed by Moore Ruble Yudell places the university into a downtown warehouse district, knitting a few new buildings into the existing brick buildings from the first quarter of the century. The loading docks now function as entrances to classrooms; the columned Snoqualmie Falls Power Station functions as the library reading room. The site includes before-and-after photos of several campus buildings.
