Project page moved

Finally the web page for this project has been put into blog form, moved from http://www.dartmo.com/lambandrich/index.html to http://www.dartmo.com/lambandrich/index.php.

The various updates listed on the old page have been recreated here as backdated posts.

The old page will not be updated but will remain available at http://www.dartmo.com/lambandrich/index2.html.

  1. I came across this site while searching for information about the Bulter Mansion in Staten Island, NY. It was built for Elmer Butler in the late 1800s. I would like to confirm that your listing for a L&R project to build a house for Elmer Butler in Richmond Valley in 1890 is one and the same.( I’m a novice at this, so please excuse me if I’m posting in the wrong place… but I would still appreciate any assistance in confirming this!!)

  2. I believe they are the same, although I have not confirmed it. The present house seems to be the one described in Leng’s Staten Island and Its People as being built on Hylan Boulevard after Butler’s ca. 1885 frame house burned. “Out of Town,” Real Estate Record and Builders’ Guide 45:1151 (5 April 1890), 480 reports that Lamb & Rich have drawn plans for a two-story and attic frame dwelling of 35×75 feet with an ell to be built for Elmer Butler in Richmond Valley facing Sandy Hook.
